Migala Communications will sign-off Brokered Ethnic 1450 WCEV Cicero IL on January 20.
For its entire forty year history, WCEV has operated in a time-share with Midway Broadcasting’s 1450 WRLL Chicago. The two stations were born after Globetrotter Broadcasting surrendered the license for 1450 WVON in 1975 after purchasing 1390/107.5 from McClendon Broadcasting.
WCEV currently operates from 1-10pm Monday through Friday, 1-8:30pm Saturday and 5am-10pm on Sundays with Spanish “The Real” WRLL operating all other hours. WCEV has not indicated whether it will just be going silent or surrendering its license to allow WRLL to move to full-time operation.
