After eight days of stunting with a loop of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” a promoting “He’s Coming”, Homeslice Media Group’s 920 KKLS/104.7 K284BA Rapid City SD has flipped the former News/Talk station to Classic Country “The Cowboy“.
Kevin Phillips moves from mornings at Hot AC “93.9 The Mix” KKMK to the same slot at KKLS. Phillips had been on-air at KKMK since 1989 and also serves as Program Director. The new format creates a flanker to co-owned Country “Kat 98.7” KOUT and Farm/Country “Big 810” KBHB while competing against Bad Lands Broadcasting’s “True Country 99.5/107.9” KRKI/KXZT.
Original Report 1/13: After a year and a half as News/Talk, Homeslice Media Group’s 920 KKLS/104.7 K284BA Rapid City SD is preparing a new identity.
KKLS/K284BA have begun stunting with a loop of Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” and promoting that “He’s Coming” on Tuesday, January 21. The stunt includes reciting of Classic Country lyrics in between the loop of the song. Northpine.com adds that the likely move to Classic Country would join a crowded field in the market as it would flank co-owned Country “Kat 98.7” KOUT and Farm/Country “Big 810” KBHB while competing against Bad Lands Broadcasting’s “True Country 99.5/107.9” KRKI/KXZT.
