Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM Tacoma/Seattle has announced a revised programming schedule following the cancellation of “Candy, Mike & Todd” from afternoons earlier this month.
While “Seattle’s Morning News” hosted by Dave Ross and Colleen O’Brien from 6-9am and Dori Monson from 12-3pm remain in place, the remainder of the station’s daytime lineup will see changes.
Gee Scott, currently co-hosting nights on KIRO-FM, will move 9am-12pm teamed with longtime KIRO newscaster/reporter Ursula Reutin. Scott joined KIRO-FM in February 2018 after previously hosting nights at Sports “710 ESPN” KIRO. Reutin has been with KIRO since 1988.
Tom Tangney and John Curley will move from 9am-12pm to afternoons from 3-7pm. The longtime KIRO staffers have been teamed in the late morning slot since 2014. Tangney has been with the station since 1994 and also serves as Managing Editor and Film Critic at the station. Curley joined KIRO-FM in 2011 as evening host and then anchored mornings with Tangney and Reutin before they moved to the late morning slot.
Rounding out the lineup changes, former afternoon co-host Mike Lewis will join incumbent co-host Aaron Mason in the 7-10pm slot.
KIRO Radio 97.3 FM has announced changes to the weekday lineup.
The Tom and Curley Show, which has aired weekdays 9 a.m. to noon, moves to the afternoon drive spot, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. KIRO will debut a new show from 9 a.m. to noon, The Gee and Ursula Show.
“We couldn’t be more excited about what comes next,” said Mike Salk, Director of Programming for Bonneville Seattle. “These shows exemplify KIRO Radio’s mission to inform, explain and entertain.”
The changes take effect Wednesday, January 29.
The Tom and Curley Show debuted on KIRO in 2013. The show has been a ratings winner and a listener favorite ever since.
“Tom and John are at the top of their game,” said Bryan Buckalew, Program Director for KIRO Radio 97.3 FM. “They have a unique ability to tackle the news from both sides of the issue, which consistently connects with listeners.”
KIRO is proud to introduce a new show for the late-morning time slot: The Gee and Ursula Show, from 9 a.m. to noon that features two familiar voices — Gee Scott and Ursula Reutin.
Ursula Reutin is an award-winning Seattle journalist who started her broadcasting career at KIRO Radio in 1988. During the past 31 years, she’s earned numerous awards for her storytelling, including Edward R. Murrow awards for Investigative Reporting, Breaking News, and Best Newscast.
Gee Scott got his start in radio on 710 ESPN Seattle. He has hosted the Justin and Gee Show, and co-hosted the John Clayton Show. Most recently he’s hosted KIRO Nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM.
On KIRO Nights, Aaron Mason will remain, with Mike Lewis bringing his extensive reporting background and considerable street smarts as the show’s new co-host.

Original Report 1/24: One year after launching “Candy, Mike & Todd” in afternoons, Bonneville News/Talk 97.3 KIRO-FM Tacoma/Seattle has cancelled the show and preparing to launch a new afternoon show.
Candy Harper states that she exited the station on January 15. Co-host Mike Lewis wrote that he will be staying at KIRO-FM, but unsure in what role that would entail. Fellow co-host Todd Herman claims that he agreed to step away from the show for an “incredible opportunity”. The trio debuted on January 14, 2019 replacing the long-running Ron & Don Show in the 3-7pm timeslot. Their final show came one year to the day.
Harper previously served as Ron & Don’s producer and with husband Jerry Potter hosted mornings at 94.1 KMPS and 103.7 KHTP Seattle, WWQM Madison, and WFLY Albany NY. They also hosted middays at WLNK Charlotte and nights at KBKS Seattle. Mike Lewis served as a reporter and fill-in host at KIRO-FM and was a columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Herman moved to KIRO-FM from afternoons at sister Conservative Talk “770 The Truth” KTTH and is a regular fill-in host for Rush Limbaugh.
Things are changing for me here at @KIRORadio. No more @CandyMikeTodd show but I'm sticking round for something new. Not sure what at this point but as odd as this might sound, I do like where the station is headed: pic.twitter.com/1tXQrZ6Og7
