After six and half years as “97.3 Nash-FM“, Cumulus Media’s 97.3 WFYR Elmwood/Peoria IL has returned to its previous “97.3 River Country” identity.
WFYR previously utilized the “River Country” moniker from the early 2000s until becoming one of the company’s first stations to take the “Nash” identity in September 2013.
The station will continue to carry the syndicated Ty Bentli Show in mornings, while the rest of the day will feature a number of brief airshifts including Wes from 9-10am, Cathy Taylor from 10-11am and 1-2pm, Doc Watson from 12-1pm, Biscuit from 2-3pm and 4-6pm and Brian J from 3-4pm.
CUMULUS MEDIA announces that Peoria, IL, Country radio station WFYR-FM rebrands today as 97.3 River Country, a heritage Country brand serving Peoria and Central Illinois. The station segues from its previous brand of 97.3 NASH FM, and will refocus its programming to play today’s best new country, as well as all-time country favorites.
