RadioInsight - FCC Report 3/1: Cumulus Surrenders AMs In Macon & Amarillo

[membership level="2,3"] After swapping call letters last week on a pair of their AMs, Cumulus Media has surrendered the licenses of 1500 WRWM (formerly WAYS) Macon GA and 1550 KLSZ (previously KNSH) Canyon/Amarillo TX. WRWM had been operating as Sports " 1500 The Fan " with programming from CBS Sports Radio. KLSZ has been mostly Silent since April 2018 due to issues with its antenna tuning unit. No specific reasons were stated for why the company was surrendering the licenses back to the FCC. Both stations had Construction Permits for translators that will now go unbuilt as well. After an inquiry last April following another operator questioning that the stations have been off-the-air since 2014 that went unanswered, the FCC has deleted Kasilof Public Broadcasting's 88.9 KMJG Homer and 91.5 KWJG Kasilof AK. Dismissals The Power Foundation's modification application for 88.7 WWQK Oak Ridge TN was dismissed for creating contour overlap with 88.9 WMBW Chattanooga. FM Changes Midwest Communications Country " Hi 99.9 " WTHI-FM Terre Haute IN applies to relocate to the tower of co-owned 102.7 WBOW with 38kW/173m . Desert Explore Communication applies to move its pending acquisition 103.5 KDVK Dove Creek CO to Navajo Mountain UT with 2.4kW/1499m to serve the Lake Powell area along the Utah and Arizona border. After the FCC dismissed its application to move 88.7 KFCY Grants NM to 91.1 with a power increase from 610 watts to 1.05kW at its current 820m antenna for contour overlap violations, Cedar Cove Broadcasting reapplies with a drop to a directional 1kW . Atlantic Coast Radio Sports 95.9 WPEI Saco/Portland ME seeks to increase power to 4.7kW with a height drop to 113m at its current site. University of Wisconsin's Public News/Talk 90.9 WUWS Ashland WI applies to increase its antenna height from 70.5m to 74.9 and eliminate its directional pattern, while remaining at 24.5kw power . Capital Community Broadcasting's AAA 100.7 KXLL and Variety 102.7 KRNN Juneau AK each seek to upgrade from Class C2 to C1 by increasing power from 2kW to 10kW from their shared 397m antenna. AM Changes Cumulus Media's " Fox Sports 1230 " WEEX Easton PA applies to eliminate one of its two towers and its directional pattern to utilize only its shorter nighttime tower with 1kW day/night. In order to fix a technical deficiency, Hour Group Broadcasting's Conservative Talk 1430 WLTG Panama City FL amends its application to change city of license to Upper Grand Lagoon and operate with 125w day/60w night from the tower of Evolution Broadcasting's 1290 WPCF Panama City Beach. WLTG's old tower site was damaged during Hurricane Michael in 2018. Vision Communications of Georgia's Christian Preaching " Glory 97.9 " 1330 WGTJ Murrayville GA seeks to add a 34 watt nighttime operation to the AM daytimer. Translator Changes [supsystic-tables id=359] Call Letter Changes 91.1 WDUB Granville OH -> WOSX 98.9 WWIK McClellanville SC -> WTMZ-FM 100.1 WQIC Lebanon PA -> WFVY 107.3 WAAF Westborough MA -> WBZU 910 WBZU Scranton PA -> WAAF Exclusive: Educational Media Foundation has applied to move the WKVB call letters from 107.9 Port Matilda PA to the former WAAF (temporarily WBZU), while that station becomes WKPA.
