Coinciding with this morning’s announced return of Brian Zepp, Michelle Tafoya has exited her position on Cumulus Media Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS Minneapolis’ “KQ Morning Show” hosted by Tom Barnard.
Tafoya will continue in her role as sideline reporter for NBC’s Sunday Night Football and Olympics coverage. While working in national sportscasting positions since joining CBS Sports in 1994, Tafoya has also long been heard on Minneapolis radio where she was a host and reporter for Sports 1130 KFAN and then hosted afternoons on News/Talk 830 WCCO from 2009-2012. She also worked at WAQS Charlotte and served as co-host of ESPN Radio’s syndicated Mike Tirico Show.
Tafoya had joined KQRS in September 2016. She told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that she decided to exit as the station was “revamping the program with an approach in which she would have played a lesser role.” She also told the newspaper, “I’d love to get my mornings back with my kids. I do the show from my house and I can hear them in the kitchen laughing with their dad. It’s a reminder that I’m missing so much.”
