After swapping the formats of 1550 KXEX and 1680 KGED Fresno at the start of the month, Compass Broadcasting is selling the pair to Bendita Eucarista Radio for $725,000. The buyer had been running its Spanish Christian programming on KXEX until moving it to the stronger KGED on May 1.
Magnum Broadcasting purchases Silent 96.9 WKEZ-FM Tavernier/Key West from the court ordered trustee of Choice Radio Keys Corporation for $100,000 via an auction held last month. Magnum, which owns Dance “Party 105.7” WGAY Sugarloaf Key/Key West, beat out bids from Florida Keys Media and Multicare Foundation.
Eagle Communications buys Classic Hits 1270 KGNM/102.5 K273BF St. Joseph MO from Orama Inc. for $160,000. An LMA took effect on May 8. Eagle already operates a competing Classic Hits format on “Joetown 107.5” 1550 KESJ/107.5 K298DA St. Joseph.
Everglades City Broadcasting Company sells 88.1 WBGY Naples FL to Kol Holev 2000 Corporation for $45,000. The buyer states its purpose in the filing “To help inform the public and the help the American-Jewish community in Florida generally, which has frequently experienced other disasters like flooding, hurricanes and now COVID-19.”
