Tyler Media has flipped Sports 1270 KRXO Claremore/107.9 K300CY Tulsa OK from a simulcast of “107.7 The Franchise” KRXO-FM Okalahoma City to Spanish CHR “Ritmo 107.9“.
Positioned as “Pop Latino y Más”, the new format gives Tyler Media a pair of Spanish language outlets to pair with its Univision and Telemundo television affiliates in the market as the company also operates Regional Mexican “La Z 101.9” 1570 KTUZ/101.9 K270BK. The new format also creates a competitor to Key Plus Broadcasting’s rimshot Spanish CHR “Viva 100.5” KTFR Chelsea.
The Tulsa World reports that the change took place on Monday and leaves Tulsa Jenks High School football and Oral Roberts University basketball without a radio affiliate. The move leaves Stephens Media Group’s “97.1 The Sports Animal” KYAL-FM and iHeartMedia’s “1430 The Buzz” KTBZ has the only Sports stations in Tulsa.
