Educational Media Foundation is purchasing four stations owned by two affiliates of Steve Silberberg’s Northeast Broadcasting.
EMF will acquire AAA’s “102.3 The River” WXRG Concord and “105.7 The River” WLKC Campton NH along with Variety Hits “Free 99.1” WNYN-FM Whitefield NH from Silberberg’s Devon Broadcasting Company for $395,000. The deal includes the tower site of WXRG. Both WXRG and WLKC simulcast the programming of AAA “92.5 The River” WXRV Andover/Boston MA.
The second deal will see the purchase of AAA “The Point” 103.1 WRJT Royalton VT/Hanover NH from Lisbon Communications for $360,000. WRJT currently simulcasts 104.7 WNCS Montpelier VT.
New Hampshire and Vermont currently do not have any affiliates of EMF’s flagship Christian AC “K-Love” network. Contemporary Worship “Air 1” is heard on translators owned by Christian Ministries in Burlington and Montpelier VT and EMF’s 106.5 WNHI Farmington NH.
Air 1 is heard in Rutland, VT on 90.5 WFTF.
While that is listed on the Air 1 website, there is no 90.5 WFTF. WFTF has been licensed to 90.9 since 2016.
That what I get for not living in Rutland for the past 3 years… forgot they moved to 90.9 a couple of years ago.
Interesting. On the heels of WXRG filing to move to WJYY’s tower… what comes of the WXRG tower then?
I can’t believe it! The EMF borg has destroyed commercial radio in Northern New England.
