Val Maki Joins Bonneville San Francisco As SVP/Market Manager

Bonneville has announced the appointment of Val Maki as SVP/Market Manager for their San Francisco operations.

Maki will replace Carl Gardner who recently announced his retirement. Maki most notably spent 33 years with Emmis in multiple positions including Vendor Director for WLOL Minneapolis, VP/Corporate Sales Development and VP/General Sales Manager for WCDJ Boston, VP/General Sales Manager of WKQX Chicago and from 1998 to 2017 VP/GM of KPWR Los Angeles as well as VP/Radio for the company. She then segued to Meruelo Media following their purchase of KPWR until exiting in February 2018. She most recently has served as VP/Strategic Partnerships for podcast company Sound That BRANDS.

Bonneville owns AC 96.5 KOIT, CHR “99.7 Now” KMVQ, Adult R&B 102.9 KBLX in San Francisco and Classic Rock “98.5 K-Fox” KUFX San Jose.

Bonneville International has chosen Val Maki to lead their San Francisco stations (KOIT-FM, KMVQ-FM, KBLX-FM & KUFX-FM), as Senior Vice President and Market Manager.

Previously, Maki served with Emmis Communications as Senior Vice President/Market Manager for their Los Angeles market and as Radio Division Vice President.
She served most recently as Vice President/Strategic Partnerships with Sound That BRANDS, a brand podcast company specializing in custom high-quality brand content development and marketing. She has also served with Emmis Communications in various executive roles in New York, Chicago, Boston, St. Louis, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Austin.
