iHeartMedia will receive a Miami AM in a swap with Immaculate Heart Media in exchange for an AM in San Bernardino CA and a translator in Pittsburgh.
iHeart will begin operating 880 WZAB Sweetwater/Miami today via LMA as an affiliate of the Black Information Network. The deal gives iHeart an eighth station in Miami. WZAB operates with 4kW day/5kW night from eight towers west of Miami. Immaculate Heart had acquired the station along with a second Miami AM and two in Tampa in July 2019 for $8,218,875.
Catholic operator Immaculate Heart Media will enter two new markets in the deal. The company’s “Relevant Radio” network will add Conservative Talk 1290 KKDD San Bernardino CA, 106.3 W292DH Pittsburgh PA (which currently rebroadcasts Sports “ESPN 970” WBGG) and $1 million in the deal. Immaculate Heart will also lease 94.5 WWSW-HD3 Pittsburgh to feed the translator. A lease of KKDD is included in the deal, but W292DH will not join Relevant Radio until the deal closes.
