iHeartMedia expanded its “Black Information Network” to two additional markets today.
iHeart’s 1230 WYTS Columbus OH and newly acquired 880 WZAB Sweetwater/Miami FL began airing the Black Information Network programming at 12pm today after running the usual stunt with historical speeches starting yesterday.
1230 WYTS had been the originating station for Classic Hip Hop “Throwback 105.3” W287CP. The translator continues with the Classic Hip Hop programming now being fed via an HD subchannel of an iHeart FM in the market.
iHeartMedia filed to acquire 880 WZAB from Immaculate Heart Media on Wednesday in exchange for 1290 KKDD San Bernardino CA, 106.3 W292DH Pittsburgh PA and $1 million.
Black Information Network now airs on stations in 23 markets. It will debut on 1600 WWRL New York on November 2.
