Kemp Broadcasting has flipped Las Vegas rimshot CHR “106.9 The Q” KVGQ Overton NV to 90s/2000s Hits “106.9 Da Bomb“.
The station is focusing on pop hits of from 1990 through 2009 with artists heard in our early sampling including Duran Duran, Bobby Brown, Jay Z, Pink, and Staind.
KVGQ was one of three CHRs in the Las Vegas market. In the just released September 2020 Nielsen Audio ratings, the station held stable at a 0.3 share of the market. The new format places the station closer to Entercom Classic Hip Hop “Q100.5” KXQQ and both Hot ACs in the market: Entercom’s “Mix 94.1” KMXB and Beasley’s “Star 107.9” KVGS. KMXB was fourth in the market with a 4.4 share, KVGS tied for fifth at 4.2, and KXQQ tied for thirteenth at 3.1.
