As part of the ongoing employee cuts across iHeartMedia, News/Talk 700 WLW Cincinnati has let go of overnight “America’s Trucking Network” host Steve Sommers.
The show debuted in 1984 with host Dale ‘The Trucking Bozo” Sommers. Steve, the son of Dale, joined the show in 1996 and took it over in 2004. Sommers was barred from political talk on the show this summer after listener complaints, however WVXU reports that Sommers began to add political commentary again in September.
Sommers has also worked at WAKW, WBVE and WUBE Cincinnati and WFLI and WQMT Chattanooga during his career.
