WTNQ began programming Christmas Music on Sunday afternoon as “Santa 104.9“. The move made it the first secular Christmas music outlet in the Knoxville market.
The former Classic Country format had three pre-existing competitors in Midwest Communications Classic Country “95.7 Duke-FM” WDKW Maryville, Clinton Broadcasters’ 1380/101.1 WYSH Clinton and 960/95.9 WQLA La Follette and M&M Broadcasting’s gold leaning Country “96.7 Merle-FM” WMYL Halls Crossroads.
