Townsquare Media AC “Cars 108” 107.9 WCRZ Flint MI morning hosts Pat & Jenny ‘AJ’ Clark have exited the station as their positions were eliminated today.
The husband and wife duo joined WCRZ in August 2014 after previously hosting mornings together at WYTE Wausau WI. Pat Clark has also worked at WKIE Chicago and hosted nights at KUUU Salt Lake City, WXSS Milwaukee and KQMV Seattle, while AJ hosted nights at WKSZ Green Bay and mornings at WIZM La Crosse.
In a release, the couple states that they are capping their broadcast radio career after a combined 35 years in the industry. Pat Clark is completing a graduate program at Fordham University to become a clinical therapist, while AJ plans to focus on digital media content creation and is available for freelance website work, video editing, graphic design, VO, and social media management at [email protected]
After a combined 35 years in the business, 12 years together as a morning show, 11 years married and too many states and stations to include, Pat and AJ in the Morning are capping off their terrestrial broadcast career after their positions at Townsquare Media’s Cars 108 in Flint, Michigan were eliminated earlier today.
What may come as a surprise is that Pat is a few weeks away from completing a graduate program at Fordham University to become a clinical therapist. He made the choice to start the transition in 2019 after the duo won an award for Media Organization of the Year from the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Michigan.
“As my career evolved, I saw that I found more joy in the community work that we were doing for the station than the actual radio itself, so I decided to follow that road,” Pat said.
AJ will now turn her focus to digital media content creation; she received Townsquare Media’s Presidents Club award for Contributor of the Year multiple times and is looking forward to concentrating on the Pat and AJ digital platform, which will be launching in 2021 and will distribute various forms of entertainment.
