When Sun Broadcasting flipped Rock “93X” 93.7 WXNX Sanibel/Fort Myers FL to “Trump Country 93.7” in September the company originally stated it intended to quickly relaunch the format on another signal. While that never happened, the company has launched a new Alternative brand in the market this week.
As we first indicated on our 12/1 Domain Insight, Sun launched “Gelly 94.1” 1240 WFSX/94.1 W231DC Fort Myers and 93.7 WXNX-HD2 on Monday.
WFSX and W231DC had been simulcasting Sports “Fox Sports FM” with 270 WNOG/105.9 W290DB Naples and 103.3 W277AP Bayshore.
We have no idea what the “Gelly” reference in the brand name stands for but in the clip we were sent of the HD2 programming it is being pronounced with a hard G like get as opposed to a soft G like gel or jelly
