Educational Media Foundation is expanding into Peoria with the purchase of Illiana Communications’ “CD Country 107.9” WCDD Canton IL for $170,000. Illiana had just purchased WCDD and News/Talk 1560 WBYS/93.7 W229BZ in December 2019 for $42,000. WCDD rimshots Peoria from the west.
Danny Hood’s Mountain Valley Media will acquire Christian 103.9 WXAN Ava IL from Southern Gospetality LLC for $300,000. Hood hosts afternoons of WXAN.
Robert Young sells 106.1 KBZI Mooreland OK to William Wachter and Nancy Miller’s One Media for $10,000. The buyers through their Blue Sky Media also own 1430 KALV Alva OK (leased to a third party) and Classic Hits 105.7 KRDR Alva serving the same region in Western Oklahoma. The company also operates “My Town Media” across Kansas and SW Missouri. KBZI simulcasts KRDR.
DRC Broadcasting is purchasing Spanish Tropical “Ritmo 99.9” 1460 WQXM/99.9 W260DA Bartow/Lakeland FL from Florida Broadcasting Media for $550,000 including the assumption of a $103,850 loan. A Time Brokerage Agreement took effect on December 2.
TBLC Media is selling Spanish CHR “Activa 1470” WWBG Greensboro NC to Richard Miller’s Twin City Broadcasting for $85,000. Miller owns 68.5 percent of Southern Broadcasting Media and its Oldies 980 WTOB Winston-Salem, which will likely simulcast on 1470 following the sale. Until the sale is consummated, WWBG has gone silent.
Noemy Rodriguez’s Alcon Media will acquire Regional Mexican “La Ley 99.5” KZLY Ione OR from Thomas Hodgins and Christopher Jacky’s Xana Oregon for $225,000. Alcon will also purchase KZLY simulcaster 100.1 KQFO Pasco and 106.9 K295AV Kennewick WA, which rebroadcasts KQFO-HD4 from Hodgins’ Alexandra Communications for $736,000. In a third related deal, Alcon will acquire 99.5 K258CN Richland (rebroadcasting KQFO-HD3) and 104.9 K285FN Kennewick (rebroadcasting KQFO-HD2) for $75,000. Alcon will shortly take over operations of the stations via LMA from Diamante Media.
L.C. Orrick Outreach sells Spanish Christian 90.7 KQLC Sealy TX to Community Radio Inc. for $90,000. A Public Service Operating Agreement took effect on December 1.
