WXMX Memphis Morning Host Chris Jarman Dies

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
December 16, 2020

98.1 The Max WXMX Memphis Drake Hall ZekeCumulus Media Rock “98.1 The Max” WXMX Millington/Memphis has announced the untimely passing of morning co-host Chris Jarman last night at the age of 50.

Jarman, who co-hosted the “Danni and The Jar” with Dannie Bruns, was a longtime member of the Drake and Zeke morning show at both “Rock 103” WEGR and then WXMX before teaming with Burns in afternoons. The duo moved to mornings earlier this year following the exit of Drake Hall in April.

The cause of Jarman’s death was not released although WMC-TV reports he died in Batesville AR due to the lack of ICU beds in Memphis.

Chris Jarman, a Memphis broadcasting legend and co-host of “Danni and The Jar” morning show on 98.1 The Max, died shortly after midnight last night at White River Medical Center in Batesville, AR. He was 50 years old. His Cumulus Memphis family is saddened beyond belief by his sudden passing. Jar will be remembered as a kind-hearted soul who gave his best and rarely met a stranger. He had a special connection with many; especially, with his audience and the community we serve. His memory will be long lasting and one we will hold fondly. They simply didn’t come more authentic than Chris Jarman from Jarkansas!
