After stunting as “Christmas 92.1” since early November, Times-Shamrock flipped the former “Alt 92.1” WFUZ Nanticoke/Wilkes-Barre PA to Hot AC “Q92.1” under new WQFM calls.
Positioned as “90s and Now”, the station launched with an hour of all 90s hits after running much of their imaging back-to-back. The first songs included Weezer “Buddy Holly”, Spice Girls “Wannabe”, Eve 6 “Inside Out”, and Alanis Morrisette “Hand In My Pocket”. Tom Ferguson continues as Program Director of the station.
The new format positions WQFM between Entercom CHR 98.5 WKRZ and Cumulus Media’s combo of AC “Magic 93” WMGS and CHR “97.1/95.7 BHT” WBHT/WBHD.
