Family Life Ministries is expanding its holdings in Pennsylvania with the purchase of two stations and one translator from Family Stations for $725,000. Family Life, which operates a network of Christian stations across northern Pennsylvania and upstate New York, will acquire 88.9 WFRJ Johnstown, 88.3 WKDN-FM State College and 103.9 W280CV Scranton. The network currently operates on a translator in State College and 107.7 WCIG Dallas in Scranton, however the filing notes the translator will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of Entercom’s 98.5 WKRZ Freeland. Is this a precursor to another deal?
Pro Broadcasting sells 1520 KYND Cypress/Houston and 99.9 K260CH Dilley TX to El Sembrador Ministries for $725,000. The station’s transmitter site is not included in the deal, but will be leased to El Sembrador for $1 per year until the promissory note attached to the purchase price is paid off in 48 months.
TBLC Media continues its station sell-off by divesting 1320 WVNZ/101.7 W269DC Richmond and 1480 WTOX Glen Allen VA to Mobile Radio Partners for $209,500. $27,000 of the price has already been paid as part of an option included in a Time Brokerage Agreement that began in December 2018. WVNZ/W269DC simulcast the buyer’s Oldies “Boomtown Richmond” 1450 WBTL/92.9 W225CU Highland Springs VA, while WTOX simulcasts their Spanish CHR “Ultra 94.1” 1540 WULT Sandston/94.1 W231DP Richmond.
Bob Bittner acquires Silent 1240 WBAS/101.5 W268CP West Yarmouth MA from Langer Broadcasting for $100,000 to join his network of Soft Oldies/Standards stations in Boston and Maine.
