Alpha Media flipped Classic Hip Hop “G100.9” WJXN Utica/Jackson MS to Variety Hits “100.9 Jack-FM” on Friday afternoon.
The move returns the brand to the frequency as WJXN previously was “100.9 Jack-FM” from July 2012 to February 2014 under an LMA to New South Radio. Alpha has leased the station from Flinn Broadcasting since January 2018.
This time the flip fills a potential format hole in the market filling the loss of the Variety Hits position created by iHeartMedia’s flip of “105.1 The River” WJDX-FM to Hip Hop “Real 105.1” last May.
WJXN had a 0.9 share in the December 2020 Nielsen Audio ratings.
