Previous fines issued to the School District of Bay City and Billy Autry for late license renewals have been rescinded. School District of Bay City’s 91.3 WCHW-FM Bay City MI was fined $3000 for not filing until September 29, 2020 just ahead of its October 1 license expiration date. The school district states that because of the pandemic employees did not have access to the station from March 12 to June 24, they were under the impression that they filed on June 29 but received an email from FCC on September 3 that they had not yet received the application.
Autry’s Gospel “The Change” 1110 WKRA and 92.7 WKRA-FM Holly Springs MS were fined a combined $6000 as they were supposed to file their license renewals by February 3, 2020 but did not until May 20, 2020. Autry stated that he was not aware of the filing deadline, the notification went to a former employee of the stations, and submitted tax records from 2017-2019 to show his inability to pay the fine.
Milligan University’s 90.5 WUMC Elizabethton TN and Black Media Works’ 89.7 WRRJ Cocoa Beach FL entered Consent Decrees due to failing to comply with the public file rule.
