iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ Newark/New York has announced new afternoon and evening shows to debut on June 1.
Current evening host Maxwell moves to afternoons from 2-6pm where he will be paired with current “Wild 94.9” KYLD San Francisco evening host Crystal Rosas for “The Maxwell and Crystal Show”. Maxwell joined WHTZ in 2014 as late night host after previously serving as APD/MD/night host at “Q102” WIOQ Philadelphis. Rosas previously was part of the JV morning show at KYLD and social media host for MLB’s Oakland Athletics.
Replacing Maxwell in nights will be current “Kiss 107.1” WKFS Cincinnati Program Director/afternoon host Josh Martinez. The move marks a return home for Martinez, who is a native of Brooklyn. Martinez has been with WKFS since 2017, previously serving as APD/MD/night host before being promoted to PD in 2018. He has also programmed “Hot 95.7” KOSY Cedar Rapids and worked on-air in Des Moines since starting his career in New York at WKTU.
Z100 rounds out the lineup changes with Shelley Rome moving up from overnights to late nights from 10pm to 2am, while Nick Gomez moves from weekends to overnights.
iHeartMedia New York’s Z100, New York’s #1 Hit Music Station, announced today that Crystal Rosas will join Maxwell on “The Maxwell and Crystal Show,” effective June 1. “The Maxwell and Crystal Show” will broadcast weekdays from 2-6 p.m. and will cover the latest pop culture headlines, including a variety of music and lifestyle topics as well as celebrity interviews and more.
Rosas joins Z100 New York from Wild 94.9 in San Francisco, where she most recently served as the nighttime on-air talent.
“There aren’t enough words to describe how excited I am to be working with the super talented Crystal Rosas,” said Maxwell. “We cannot wait to take our show to the next level, and I think Crystal and I will make a great team.”
“My heart always knew that NYC is where I’m meant to be,” said Rosas. “So it’s truly an honor to call the legendary Z100 my new home.”
In addition, Z100 will welcome Josh Martinez to the program lineup. Martinez will broadcast from 6-10 p.m., beginning May 24. Martinez joins Z100 from Kiss 107 in Cincinnati, where he most recently served as the afternoon on-air talent and program director. He is also a host on the nationally syndicated “Hit Nation” show.
“Growing up in Brooklyn & Staten Island, the dream was to always be on Z100 & thanks to the amazing team at iHeartMedia, my boyhood dream has come true,” said Martinez.
As part of the program changes, Shelley Rome will broadcast late nights from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Nick Gomez will broadcast weekday overnights from 2-6 a.m., effective immediately.
