Former Rock 107.3 WAAF Boston personality Matty Blake has joined Cumulus AC “Lite 105” WWLI Providence as morning co-host alongside Heather Gersten.
Blake co-hosted afternoons with Nick Stevens at WAAF from January 2017 until January 2019. The actor/comedian also hosts “The Curse of Oak Island: Drilling Down” and “Beyond Oak Island” on History Channel.
Blake fills the slot vacated by the exit of Stephen Donovan at the end of June. Gersten has been with WWLI since 2003 after stints in mornings at WBIX New York and WQSX Boston. She also serves as Assistant Program Director at the station.
CUMULUS MEDIA announces that Matty Blake joins veteran morning show host Heather Gersten on Lite 105/WWLI-FM as Co-Host of Southern New England’s newest morning show, HEATHER & MATTY. The show airs Monday through Friday from 6:00am-10:00am.
Blake is also the current host of The Curse of Oak Island: Drilling Down and Beyond Oak Island, two successful shows associated with the #1 rated non-scripted series on cable, The Curse of Oak Island on The History Channel. Blake has been a successful host, actor, writer, adventurer and investigator. He has done work for Golf Channel, NBC Sports, VH1, G4, Comedy Central, and has guest-starred in TV shows such as 30 ROCK, BOARDWALK EMPIRE, ALPHA HOUSE and appeared in films such as ROUGH NIGHT, HITS and the Academy Award-winning MYSTIC RIVER.
Blake said: “My mission now is simple: To join forces with my friend Heather and spread joy wherever we can.”
“I met Matty 20 years ago at a radio station in Boston and we have wanted to partner on a show ever since, so it’s a dream come true,” said Heather Gersten, an 18-year veteran of mornings on WWLI-FM.
Matty is married with one son and has been a resident of Barrington, RI, for over seven years.
