Following John Ivey’s move to President of CHR Content Development & Strategy, iHeartMedia has promoted Beata Murphy to Program Director of CHR 102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles.
Murphy has served as APD/MD of KIIS-FM since June 2013. She also serves as Executive Producer of weekend show “iHeart Countdown with Jojo Wright” and “The Vibe with Tanya Rad & EJ” that are based at KIIS-FM and air on many of iHeart’s CHRs. She began her career as an intern at then “Wild 98.7” WLLD Tampa and would eventually rise to programming assistant and later MD and APD. She moved to RCA Records in 2006 as Los Angeles based National Director of Promotions until joining KIIS-FM.
iHeartMedia announced today that Beata Murphy has been named Program Director for KIIS FM in Los Angeles, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Los Angeles has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing more than 8 stations comprised of music, talk and news formats. It also produces a number of legendary marquee live music events including the iHeartRadio KIIS FM Jingle Ball and Wango Tango. She will report to John Peake, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Los Angeles.

A true music industry veteran, Beata began her career in radio in 1999 at WLLD in Tampa, FL, while still in college. From there she became National Director at Jive Records in 2006, continuing her career helping develop radio marketing plans for major artists like Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Usher and many others. During her time at Jive/RCA, Beata’s team delivered multiple #1 singles at RHY Radio and helped break new artists. In 2013 she went back to her first love, one of the nation’s most prestigious radio stations, KIIS-FM Los Angeles. Beata is also passionate in supporting the Los Angeles community philanthropically, and through the power of radio has helped raise more than a million dollars in partnership with record labels and artists as an industry!
