After stunting for the past few days as “Go Fish Radio“, Townsquare Media relaunched Classic Rock “96.5 The Fox” KBYZ Bismarck ND as “96.5 The Walleye“.
Positioning as “Classic Rock That Really Rocks The River”, the move pits KBYZ closer musically to iHeartMedia’s Rock “Rock 101” KSSS. KBYZ ranked eighth in the Spring 2021 Nielsen Audio ratings with a 4.8 share, but well behind KSSS and its currently tied for third ranked 7.6 share (market leading as recently as Fall 2019).
The first hour of the new “Walleye” consisted of:
- Lit – My Own Worst Enemy
- Ratt – Round and Round
- Stevie Nicks/Tom Petty – Stop Dragging My Heart Around
- Warrant – Uncle Toms Cabin
- Journey – Don’t Stop Believin
- White Stripes – Seven Nation Army
- Don Henley – Boys of Summer
- 3 Doors Down – Kryptonite
- Lita Ford – Kiss Me Deadly
- AC/DC – You Shook Me All Nite Long
- Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – Don’t Do Me Like That
- Whitesnake – Here I Go Again
- Queensryche – Silent Lucidity
