As expected, the stunt mode on Cumulus Media’s “New Country 101.5” WKHX-FM Marietta/Atlanta GA was a lead-in to a station promotion.
WKHX used its four day build-up of saying “goodbye” to lead into a free gas giveaway. All regular programming on the station has returned to normal.

Original Report 2/10: Cumulus Media’s “New Country 101.5” WKHX-FM Marietta/Atlanta GA has gone into stunt mode.
All imaging currently refers to the station simply by the frequency with the sweepers emphasizing the word “goodbye” such as “Sometimes it’s hard to say goodbye, keep listening to hear what’s next on 101.5” and “Nobody wants to say goodbye, but we’ll be doing that soon on 101.5”. WKHX has also gone into a jockless presentation for now.
The station is promoting an announcement for Monday, February 14 at 7:35am.
INSTANT INSIGHT: Definitely NOT a format change happening here. This has all the markings of a big giveaway or promotional campaign starting. WKHX has recently surpassed iHeartMedia’s “94.9 The Bull” WUBL in the ratings and an announcement during the highest cumeing part of the morning show is always when you make the promotional announcement and not a flip.
