Cumulus Media Hot AC “Q97.3” KQHN Waskom TX/Shreveport LA has announced the addition of Jay Whatley as afternoon host.
Whatley joined KQHN in March after previously holding the same role at Townsquare Media CHR “K94.5” KRUF. Whatley had been with KRUF since 2007 with stints as part of the morning show, overnights, and nights before moving to afternoons in 2015. He has also served as producer for SiriusXM’s and CBS Sports Tim Brando Show and is the longtime in-arena host for Shreveport Mudbugs hockey.
Cumulus Media (NASDAQ: CMLS) announces that it has appointed Shreveport native Jay Whatley as On-Air Host, Afternoons, on Hot AC station Q97.3 (KQHN-FM) in Shreveport. Whatley has been a fixture on Shreveport radio for almost 15 years and joins Q97.3 from KRUF-FM. He is also the emcee for the Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team and has won several “Locals Love Us” awards as best radio personality in Shreveport. Whatley can now be heard on Q97.3 Monday through Friday from 3:00pm-7:00pm.
