After stunting since 12pm yesterday, Stephens Media Group’s Active Rock 92.7 KTRX Dickson/Ardmore OK relaunched this morning as Adult CHR “Star 92.7“.
The new brand is positioning as “Today’s Best Music”. Jimmy Green, who had been hosting mornings under the old format, remains in place with “The Morning Star”. Mike Elroy also remains in place from the previous format in middays. KSTT San Luis Obispo CA PD/morning host JoJo Lopez will track afternoons. Lopez is also heard on Stephens owned stations in Modesto and Monterey CA and Medford OR. Tino Cochino Radio will fill the evening slot.
The first five songs heard on the new “Star 92.7” were One Republic “Counting Stars”, Glass Animals “Heat Waves”, Ed Sheerhan “Bad Habits”, Lizzo “About Damn Time”, and Imagine Dragons “Believer”.

KTRX began stunting at 12pm with a loop of brief song snippets that all include the word “Star” from various genres and current morning host Jimmy Green telling listeners to tune-in on Wednesday at 6am to “find out the big news”.
