CRC Media West’s Sports “Team 1010” KXPS/102.7 K274DA Thousand Palms CA relaunched as “102.7 The Fanatic” on June 1.
The move came with the sign-off of 1010 KXPS, with the station now being fed by Marker Broadcasting’s 95.9 KJJZ-HD3 Indian Wells. The weekday lineup stays the same with Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick Show from 6-9am, CBS Sports Radio’s Jim Rome Show from 9am-12pm and Maggie & Perloff from 12-1pm, and VSiN’s The Edge and My Guys In The Desert follow from 1-3pm. The local “Pure Sports with Geoff Bloom” remains in the 3-6pm slot and CBS Sports Radio in nights, overnights, and weekends. The new brand duplicates co-owned “1580 The Fanatic” KQFN Tempe/Phoenix.
The sign-off on KXPS was accompanied by the shutdown of CRC Media West’s other AM in the market as Mark Westwood’s Westmark LLC lease to operate Oldies “Studio 100.9” 1200 KPSF/100.9 K265FH Cathedral City/Palm Springs came to and end just six months after launching the format. K265FH is currently rebroadcasting KJJZ-HD3 as well.
In the Silent STA request filed with the FCC, owner Ron Cohen states both stations are requesting to go off the air for 90 days as they operate on generator power “and the cost of fuel has become prohibitive to continue to operate the station during the heat of summer in Palm Springs”.

KXPS’s website features a countdown clock to June 1 that features a logo icon similar to the one used by co-owned “1580 The Fanatic” KQFN Tempe/Phoenix. On-air promos also indicate that the 1010 signal will be “going away” on that date and to keep listening on the FM. KXPS currently airs a mix of programming from the Fox Sports radio, CBS Sports Radio, and VSiN networks.
CRC Media West also owns Oldies “Studio 100.9” 1200 KPSF/100.9 K265FH Cathedral City in the Palm Springs market. KPSF is operated by Mark Westwood’s Westmark LLC via LMA.
