After stunting all weekend with songs titled after former Rhythmic CHRs in the market, JVC Media launched “Fly 103.1” WFYY Windermere/Orlando at noon today.
Branded as “Orlando’s Hottest Hit Music”, the station is launching with 10,000 songs commercial free with core artists including Post Malone, Doja Cat, Drake, Ariana Grande, and Jack Harlow. The station will be led by JVC Florida Director of Programming Stevie DeMann, who previously programmed “102 Jamz” WJHM from 2001 to 2007 and then spent ten plus years as Operations Manager of Cox Media Group Orlando where he led “Power 95.3” WPYO. A full airstaff will launch at the conclusion of the commercial-free run.
The weekend stunting featured a loop of Newcleus’ “Jam On It” on Friday in honor of WJHM, an hour of songs with “Party” and “Power” each day on Saturday and Sunday in honor of the former brands of WPYO, and then this morning with songs with “Fly” in the title. The new brand launched with brief tributes to those former stations.
The company is also teasing the potential return of the former Country “103.1 The Wolf” brand on another signal. We first reported on the expected format change of the station in our exclusive Domain Insight report on June 22.
The station’s first hour consisted of:
- Jack Harlow – First Class

Update 7/29: JVC Media dropped the Country format on “103.1 The Wolf” WOTW Windermere/Orlando FL at midnight and has begun stunting with a loop of Newcleus’ “Jam On It”.
Sweepers promote “A Brand New Radio Station Is Under Construction” pointing listeners to tune in on Monday, August 1 at 12pm. As we first reported several weeks ago, JVC registered multiple domains in mid-June, one of which Fly1031Orlando.com has been moved to Cloudflare’s DNS awaiting to go live. The station applied earlier this week to change call letters to WFYY as of this Monday.
The Country format signed off at midnight with George Strait’s “The Cowboy Rides Away”. The now former “Wolf” identity had debuted in December 2014 when JVC acquired the station.
Original Report 7/25: Multiple signs point to an upcoming format change at JVC Broadcasting Country “103.1 The Wolf” WOTW Windermere/Orlando FL.
JVC applied today to change WOTW’s call letters to WFYY on August 1. That matches one of the domains we reported on the company registering in our exclusive Domain Insight report on June 22: Fly1031Orlando.com. The domain has since been moved to Cloudflare’s DNS awaiting to go live.
WOTW rose from a 0.9 to a 2.4 share in the June 2022 Nielsen Audio Ratings. That still kept it behind Cox Media Group’s “K92.3” WWKA’s 3.3 share.
As for what’s next, the most likely format would be Rhythmic CHR to fill the opening created by the demise of Cox’s “Power 95.3” WPYO at the end of March. JVC Florida Director of Programming Stevie DeMann spent much of his career in the format previously programming WPYO and “102 Jamz” WJHM in Orlando.
