WLFE Purchase To Bring Vida Unida To South Florida

Hope Media Group has announced the acquisition of Christian AC “90.9 Life-FM” WLFE Cutler Bay/Homestead FL from Calvary Chapel of Kendall.

The $1.1 million purchase will be utilized to bring the organization’s Spanish Christian “Vida Unida” programming to South Florida, where the station serves the southern portions of the Miami market. Hope Media Group launched the brand in November 2021 on 91.7 KHVU Houston and has since spread the programming to translators in Birmingham AL and Evansville IN and HD subchannels in Portland OR, Dallas, and Nashville.

Hope Media Group (HMG) has announced intent to purchase Miami radio station 90.9 WLFE from Calvary Chapel of Kendall, FL, with plans for it to serve as the South Florida outlet of “Vida Unida,” HMG’s Spanish-language format, whose flagship is 91.7 KHVU/Houston. This builds on the expansion of Vida Unida’s platforms across the nation following HMG’s merger with Way Media earlier this year.

“With over 1.5 million Spanish-speakers in the Houston region, we’ve had a heart to engage this group with a music format. But, we always believed Houston would serve as a launchpad to reach other cities in the same way,” said Joe Paulo, President/CEO of Hope Media Group. “Miami represents an exceptional opportunity for us to encourage this community to love Jesus, serve others and spread hope.”

Vida Unida now airs on the following stations across the United States:

96.3 KKWA HD2 Portland, OR

89.7 KAWA HD2 Dallas/Fort Worth, TX

88.7 WAYM HD2 Nashville, TN

91.5 WJWA HD2 Evansville, IN

100.1 W261CW Evansville, IN

89.9 W210CA Birmingham, AL

“It’s an honor to bring a message of hope and restoration to our Latino audience in so many new cities,” said Myrka Dellanos, Vida Unida’s Morning Show co-host, Emmy Award-winning journalist and television host. “With Spanish-speakers making up more than half of the population in the Miami area, the addition of a Miami station will significantly increase Vida Unida’s impact.”

Merging with Way Media in May 2022, Hope Media Group brings together two organizations with a combined 75 years of ministry and media experience, beginning in 1982 with KSBJ/Houston and 1987 with WAYJ/Fort Myers. They engage an audience of more than 4 million individuals worldwide with positive multimedia content over radio and online mediums. To learn more, visit hopemediagroup.com.
