The curtain will fall on SiriusXM’s “The Garth Channel” (channel 55) on September 30.
The end of the channel is timed with the end of years of touring done by Brooks as the channel launched in 2016 during his 390 date arena tour and continued through his stadium tours the past three years that comes to and end this weekend in Dublin. He told Billboard, “The Garth Channel sold a ton of tickets for us on the tour and a ton of tickets for us on the stadium tour and now the drive for what it was and what it stood for is coming to a close. We plan this purposefully for all our stuff to be coming to a close here to see what our next step might be.”
Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood both hosted shows on the channel, which differed from most of the artist branded channels on the platform in that Brooks’ music made up only a portion of what was played with the rest coming from music that Brooks curated across multiple genres.
