Just over a year after launching CHR “Nu 92.7” WNUU Starview/York PA, Forever Media has blown up the brand and has begun stunting with Christmas music as “Santa 92.7” becoming the first member of our 2022 post-Christmas format change watchlist.
The stunting is also being heard on 1320 WGET/93.7 W229DK Gettysburg and 1280 WHVR/95.3 W237EN Hanover. Those signals had also flipped to the “Nu” brand last year, but were running Westwood One’s 24/7 Hot AC format, while WNUU was locally programmed.
The station’s Facebook page states the Christmas music will continue until January 2, 2023. It will be one of two all-Christmas stations in the region as Cumulus Media AC “Warm 103.3” WARM-FM announced it will make its annual move on November 9.
“Nu 92.7” debuted in October 2021 following Forever’s acquisition of the former “ESPN Radio 92.7” WONN-FM from Hall Communications, but failed to generate any momentum with a 0.4 share in the Spring 2022 Nielsen Audio ratings trailing iHeartMedia CHR “FM 97” WLAN-FM’s 2.9 and Cumulus Media’s “Hot 106.7” WWKL’s 1.7 in the York market.
