Lynda Lopez To Anchor Middays On WINS; Brigitte Quinn To Move To WCBS

1010 WINS All News 92.3 WINS-FM New YorkAudacy will debut new midday anchors on both of its New York News properties.

After a year as serving as a Senior Advisor for the United States Department of Education, Lynda Lopez will return to the company to anchor middays for 1010 WINS/92.3 WINS-FM. Lopez had two stints at 880 WCBS first from 2009 to 2016 and then as midday anchor from 2020 to January 2022. She has bounced between radio and television in her career beginning with stints at 102.3 WBAB, 92.7 WLIR and “Party 105.3” WXXP on Long Island, the latter of which she served as APD/MD. She would then host late nights at 103.5 WKTU New York before joining “Blink 102.7” WNEW as morning co-host. On the television side, Lopez has served as an anchor and reporter for WCBS-TV, WNYW-TV, WWOR-TV and entertainment reporter for WNBC/WNJU and WPIX in New York and hosted a show at Style Network.

Brigitte Quinn will move from WINS to 880 WCBS to host and serve as Managing Editor for “Newsline” from 10am to 1pm. Quinn’s program will feature more longform coverage “to go beyond the headlines”. Quinn has been with WINS since 2013 spending eight years as morning co-anchor before moving to middays in 2021. She was the first female co-anchor on WCBS in the mid 90s before serving as a television anchor for MSNBC, NBC News at Sunrise and Fox News.

Audacy has announced a series of key news programming moves for WCBS 880 (WCBS-AM) and 1010 WINS (WINS-AM / 92.3 FM) in New York.

Veteran journalists Brigitte Quinn and Lynda Lopez will handle midday anchor duties with Lopez joining 1010 WINS and Quinn moving from WINS to sister station WCBS 880, where she will host and serve as Managing Editor of “Newsline,” weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET. In addition, the stations have announced that reporter Sophia Hall has been elevated to Long Island Bureau Chief.

“Since we embarked on our journey of two unique brands but one cohesive news organization, we have made tremendous strides increasing our coverage of the tri-state area and today’s announcements continue that exciting trend,” said Ivan Lee, Brand Manager, 1010 WINS and WCBS 880. “Lynda’s knowledge of New York City is a perfect fit for the legendary 1010 WINS, while Brigitte and “Newsline” allows WCBS 880 to go beyond the headlines. Plus, Sophia’s experience will make sure that we have focused coverage on one of the largest and most important parts of our listening area – Long Island.”

Quinn’s move to WCBS 880 from 1010 WINS comes after she has hosted “Newsline with Brigitte Quinn,” a daily four-hour news program, since 2021. Before that she anchored morning drive at the station for eight years. Her career includes anchoring at MSNBC, NBC News at Sunrise, and FOX Newschannel. In the mid 1990s, Quinn became the first female co-anchor in morning drive on WCBS radio.

Lopez has worked at the local and network levels and brings a wealth of experience in news, entertainment, government and education. She has earned an Emmy for outstanding news program and a place in the prestigious “Who’s Who Among Hispanic Americans.” She joined WCBS-TV as a news anchor before moving to My9 and then FOX 5 in New York in the same capacity. Previous experience also includes WNBC-TV, E! News, ABC News and Audacy’s WCBS 880 and WNEW.

The above changes take effect in mid-February. Additional announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
