Walnut Media has launched Country “Bluffs Country 106.5” on 1420 KXCB Omaha NE and 106.5 K293CX Council Bluffs IA.
Hyperserving the Iowa side of the market with a focus on Council Bluffs, the station will feature a morning show hosted by Todd Studer and Peggie Sweet. The station is operating from Studer’s podcast studios in downtown Council Bluffs. Studer previously has worked for Dial Global Radio Networks. Sweet previously worked in the market at CHR “Sweet 98” KQKQ.
The station is featuring a mix of current and gold based Country positioning itself right between iHeartMedia’s combo of “Kat 103.7” KXKT and Classic Country “93.3 The Wolf” KFFF.
The signals were previously simulcasting Oldies “http://K281DG“>Boomer Radio”, which continues on 1490 KIBM/94.5 K233CO/104.1 K281DG Omaha and 97.3 KOBM-FM Blair NE.
Walnut Media is proud to announce the addition of Bluffs Country 106.5FM/1420AM to its local radio station group. This offers the Council Bluffs community and surrounding area’s its first, locally programmed commercial radio station in over 35 years.
Bluffs Country features a live morning show with Todd Studer and Peggie Sweet, both Iowa radio veterans. The station will primarily play the best country music from the 80s, 90s, 2000s and today. Bluffs Country will feature local news and weather and will serve as the exclusive local affiliate of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The station also plans to carry local high school sports starting in the fall.
