iHeartMedia and Premiere Networks will launch the national midday show “Way Up with Angela Yee” on Monday, February 6.
Announced last August when Yee announced plans to depart Premiere’s “The Breakfast Club”, the program will air on Hip Hop/R&B stations nationally from 10am to 2pm weekdays from iHeart’s new New York studios. Yee had been part of The Breakfast Club since the show launched on Hip Hop “Power 105.1” WWPR in December 2010. She also spent five years at SiriusXM’s “Shade 45” as part of its morning show first with Cipha Sounds and then solo.
Among the stations where the show is debuting today are 107.5 WGCI Chicago, “105.3 The Beat” WRDA Atlanta, “Power 99” WUSL Philadelphia, 97.9 WJLB Detroit, and “103 Jamz” WOWI Norfolk.
Way Up with Yee soft-launched this week on WWPR with blogger/host Jasmine Brand serving as guest co-host. The program will debut on Monday nationally including the majority of iHeart’s Hip Hop stations.
Premiere Networks announced that today, February 6, marks the launch of “Way Up with Angela Yee” – the highly-anticipated new midday show from award-winning media personality Angela Yee – into national syndication. Originating from iHeartMedia New York’s Power 105.1 (WWPR-FM), the four-hour show will debut on more than 30 iHeartMedia stations nationwide and will be syndicated by Premiere Networks to stations across the country.
Among the major market stations launching “Way Up with Angela Yee” today are: 107.5 WGCI in Chicago (WGCI-FM); Power 99 in Philadelphia (WUSL-FM); 105.3 The Beat in Atlanta (WRDG-FM) and 97.9 WJLB in Detroit (WJLB-FM).
“Way Up with Angela Yee” features the iconic Radio Hall of Fame personality in a fast-paced, listener interactive show, as she connects directly with listeners on the kinds of hot and timely topics in which she’s garnered trust over her decades on air – from relationships to Hip-Hop and R&B, headline news topics, and overall culture, both in and out of the music industry. The fun, entertaining, and inspiring show also includes celebrity interviews and special guests.
