Stephens Media Group Alternative “94.1 The Zone” WZNE Brighton/Rochester NY has gone local in mornings with the return of Zach Schaefer to the station starting today.
After starting his career at “103.1 The Buzz” WPBZ West Palm Beach, Schaefer previously spent eleven years at the station starting in promotions and rising to weekends and then evening host on-air, while becoming cluster Promotions and Marketing Director from 2014 until being part of COVID related cuts in 2020. Most recently he served as a producer and traffic reporter for Audacy Rochester.
The launch of “The Morning Zone Out with Zack” brings a local morning show to WZNE for the first time since the station added the Howard Stern Show in 2004. WZNE would subsequently carry “Rover’s Morning Glory” from 2006 to 2020 and most recently carried “The Jubal Show”.
