Todd Nixon, Program Director/midday host at Steel City Media Country “Q104” KBEQ Kansas City, is entering station ownership with the purchase of Classic Country/Bluegrass 1410 KTNK/103.7 K279CY Lompoc CA from Michael Day’s Cross and Crown Broadcasting.
Nixon’s Sticks Media will pay $150,000 for KTNK marking the company’s first acquisition. A Time Brokerage Agreement will take effect on September 1.
Nixon has programmed KBEQ since January 2017. He has been programming Country stations since 2003 with time at WYZB Fort Walton Beach, KRMD-FM Shreveport, WCKT Fort Myers, WCTQ Sarasota, WTQR Greensboro, and WNCB Raleigh prior to joining KBEQ. He has also served as a Country playlist curator for Slacker Radio.
Sticks Media is thrilled to announce the acquisition of highly-regarded radio station, KTNK and related FM translator, K279CY, in Lompoc, California, from Cross and Crown Broadcasting. This landmark deal marks Sticks Media’s first radio station acquisition.

Nixon will be the second KBEQ program director to own a radio station. Mike Kennedy, who was the PD during the end of its CHR and beginning of its country days, owned B104.7 in Manhattan, KS in the 90’s. Can’t remember when he sold it.
Little Apple Broadcasting owned KXBZ from 1993 to 1999.
