Midwest Communications CHR 101.1 WIXX Green Bay has officially unveiled its new morning show debuting on Wednesday, February 7.
In addition to the previously announced Dan ‘Huggie’ Amsden and ‘Natalie Kay’ Jansen, the show will feature WIXX Brand Manager Corey Carter as “Huggie, Natalie & Corey”.
Dan ‘Huggie’ Amsden has hosted afternoons at WIXX since May 2022. He previously has held on-air roles at “Movin 92.5” KQMV Seattle, “Live 95.5” KBFF Portland, “103.5 Kiss-FM” KSAS-FM Boise, and “Hot 97.5” KVEG Las Vegas.
‘Natalie Kay’ Jansen comes to WIXX from Milwaukee where she was working in sales for Saga Communications. She was formerly “Rock Girl” and also co-hosted afternoons and hosted weekends on Rock “102.9 The Hog” WHQG. Jansen also previously starred on VH1’s Dating Naked in 2016.
Carter has served as Brand Manager of WIXX since 2009 after previously serving in the same role and morning host at Hot AC “Mix 108” KBMX Duluth MN.
The show completes the carousel of morning show changes at WIXX since the October retirement of Jim Murphy after 32 years. Murphy’s co-hosts Katie Schurk and Nick Vitrano departed in early December and will join Woodward Community Media’s crosstown “95.9 Kiss-FM” WKSZ following the completion of their non-competes. WIXX then hired Chris Carson as morning host in December, only to cut ties with him less than a month later.
WIXX is proud to announce the creation of a new, fresh and exciting morning show to serve the Northeast Wisconsin region.
Beginning Wednesday, February 7, WIXX debuts “Huggie, Natalie & Corey”. Now, about the players.
Dan “Huggie” Amsden, who has entertained the WIXX afternoon audience for the last 2 years with his #1 rated show, is transitioning to the mornings. Huggie has held radio positions at Live 95.5 Portland, Movin’ 92.5 Seattle, 103.5 Kiss FM Boise and 97.5 Las Vegas before joining WIXX in 2022. Huggie brings a unique perspective and personality to the show.
“Mornings has been my goal since I was 10 years old.” Huggie remarked. “If not now, when? This is the perfect time to jump on it and love the team we’ve assembled.”
Natalie Kay, a Wisconsin native, comes from Milwaukee where she’s had a 10-year run at 102.9, WHQG. Natalie’s experience in Milwaukee included, being a solo host as well as co-host in afternoon drive. Natalie’s dedication to give back to the community resonates with people who appreciate her authenticity both on and off air. Natalie also has a multifaceted personality renowned for her dynamic presence in the entertainment industry. From reality TV, to exclusive artist interviews, to being the Director of community engagement and execution with Spearhead Conversations, all while juggling the responsibilities of motherhood, Natalie is a true force to be reckoned with.
