After stunting with Oldies while completing a studio upgrade following the closing of its sale to John and Kristine Treese’s Treese Media Group LLC, Talk 830 WEEU Reading PA has returned to its regular programming with the return of former morning host Mike Keller to the station.
Keller previously hosted mornings at WEEU from 2009 until last July. He will be joined by longtime WEEU sportscaster Bob McCool from 6-9am as the duo replace Andy Palmer and Matt Devine. The station has also added the Dave Ramsey Show for afternoons replacing the departing Chris Barnes. The station notes it will now feature Oldies on weekends.
Original Report 2/2: With John and Kristine Treese’s Treese Media Group LLC closing on its $138,900 acquisition of News/Talk 830 WEEU Reading PA, the station has temporarily dropped its format for Oldies.
The station is promoting a relaunch on Monday, February 5 with the return of a former host to the station, while afternoon host Chris Barnes has exited. Station management noted on social media that the music stunt is being done while the station upgrades its equipment.
John Treese is a former host at WNPV Lansdale and WQKX/WVLY Selinsgrove PA. The Treese’s agreed to purchase WEEU in November from Bob Lowe’s Twilight Broadcasting.
