Connoisseur Media has flipped Rock “95.9 The Fox” WFOX Southport CT to a simulcast of News/Talk 600 WICC/107.3 W297CP Bridgeport CT.

The move brings WICC’s programming to FM across a wider stretch of the I-95 corridor in Fairfield County with the 95.9 signal covering from the New York state line through Greenwich, Stamford and Norwalk up through Bridgeport. WICC features mostly local programming from 5am to 7pm weekdays with Melissa Sheketoff in mornings, Lisa Wexler from 10am to 12pm, and “CT Today with Paul Pacelli” from 2-6pm. Best of Sheketoff and Wexler fill the 6pm hour. Other shows on WICC include Erick Erickson from 12-2pm, Lars Larson from 7-10pm, Dave Ramsey 10pm–1am, and Red Eye Radio overnight. WICC has also added CBS News at the top of each hour.

WICC dropped from a 5.0 to 3.3 in the July Nielsen Audio ratings for Metro Fairfield County. WFOX rose from a 0.5 to 0.7 share.

The move marks the end of the “Fox” brand on the station after 35 years. WFOX had been running a “History of Alternative Rock” feature for the week leading into and through Labor Day. All of the station’s staffers held other roles within Connoisseur Media’s Connecticut properties as the station carried the “Chaz & AJ” morning show based at Rock 99.1 WPLR New Haven, midday host Jon Kamal serves as network producer for the syndicated “Anna & Raven” morning show based at Hot AC “Star 99.9” WEZN Bridgeport, and Connoisseur Media Vice President of Programming Keith Dakin hosted afternoons.
