Alpha Media has rebranded CHR “Energy 95.3” KLLY Oildale/Bakersfield CA as “Live 95.3“.
Now positioning as “Bakersfield’s Top Hits”, KLLY continues to carry Brooke & Jeffrey in mornings and “XYZ with Erik Zachary” at night. The station lost its local staffers in Alpha’s cuts over the summer.
The rebrand brings KLLY in line with many of Alpha’s other CHRs including “Live 95.5” KBFF Portland as well as stations in Columbia SC, Fredericksburg VA, and Hagerstown MD. The “Energy” brand had been used since June 2015 following Alpha’s acquisition of the station in 2014 and subsequent shift from Hot AC to CHR.
KLLY had a 2.2 share in the October 2024 Nielsen Audio ratings trailing American General Media’s competing “Hits 93.1” KKXX’s 2.8.
