Alpha Media’s Hot AC duo in suburban Chicago will debut new on-air lineups on Monday, January 13.
Triggered by morning host Joe Cicero’s departure in December, the changes will see “Star 96.7” WSSR Joliet and “Star 105.5” WZSR Woodstock once again having separate afternoon shows in addition to middays. Skyview Networks’ “XYZ with Erik Zachary” will move from nights to mornings on both stations giving the show its first AM clearances.
At WZSR, Ron Mrowiec will continue in middays while morning co-host Tina Bree will move to afternoons. WSSR will have Jillian Bass remain in middays. Eddie Volkman, who had been on both stations, will now only be heard in Joliet. Hannah Brummer, who also serves as Assistant Content Director for both stations and midday host at “Chicagoland’s Free Country” 98.3 WCCQ/102.3 WXLC, will track nights.

Erik Zachary said, “Growing up listening to Chicago morning radio, it’s always been a dream to be a part of this legendary space. Now, as we make the jump to mornings on Star 105.5 & 96.7, we’re beyond excited to bring the authenticity and witty perspective XYZ is known for to Chicagoland every morning.”
Co-host Jordan Foster added, “For us, it’s always been about creating that connection with our listeners and including them in our conversation. We’re so excited to bring our friendship and realness to the mornings and make every listener feel like they’re starting the day with friends.”
Skyview Networks SVP Business Development and Communication Andrew Kolb said, “We are thrilled for the expansion of XYZ with Erik Zachary into new dayparts. By adding greater daypart flexibility, the show is opening itself to additional affiliate opportunities, and we are proud to be a supportive partner in XYZ’s growing portfolio.”
