Former “Ace & TJ Show” host David ‘Ace’ Cannon passed away on Tuesday at the age of 56.
Cannon and Ritchie ‘TJ’ Beams met when both were working part-time at KQID Alexandria LA in 1991 and would eventually be teamed together in mornings. They moved to WZYP Huntsville AL in 1995 before arriving at “Kiss 95.1” WNKS Charlotte in 1998. The show has been a constant in the Charlotte market since despite moves to “Channel 96.1” WHQC in 2012, back to WNKS to run from 9am-12pm in July 2022, and to Beasley Classic Hits “K104.7” WKQC in May 2024. Following Cannon’s abrupt departure in September, the show relaunched as “TJ & Riggins” with producer Bryan ‘Riggins’ Weber rising to co-host with Beams, but they immediately lost WKQC as an affiliate.
He resurfaced in October stating that he was going through a divorce and “taking this time to work on myself and create a better space for myself and my future.”
Cannon is survived by his sons Cade and Dax, his wife Amanda, his ex-wife Shonnette, and sister Piper. His daughter Payton died in a car accident in 2020.

Omg!! I remember the first time I ever meet them in charlotte!! He was a good guy!! I remember the death of his daughter and him talking about that!! He will be miss so much!! Rest easy!!
