NPR is brining its streaming Tiny Desk Concerts to radio with the launch of a weekly hour-long radio show.
Launching on April 17, Tiny Desk Radio will be hosted by Tiny Desk Concerts host/producer Bobby Carter and producer/curator Anamaria Sayre, who also co-hosts Alt.Latino. Each show will feature three concert performances and curated information about the artists with stories about the performances.
NPR Music Executive Producer Suraya Mohamed said, “Our team at NPR Music is proud to curate what is likely the most popular video concert series in the world. Now we are excited to share Tiny Desk performances across the public radio airwaves.”
The Tiny Desk Concert series launched in 2008 and has featured over 1200 performances at the “Tiny Desk” of former All Songs Considered host and Tiny Desk series co-creator Bob Boilen. NPR states that the series averaged more than 1 million views every day in 2024 with a peak of 5.6 million views on December 20, 2024.
