Bloom Broadcasting will flip Adult R&B “Star 94.7” 1330 WGFT Campbell and 94.7 W234CH Girard/Youngstown OH to Sports “ESPN Mahoning Valley” on Monday, April 7.
The new brand will feature a pair of local shows. Longtime market Rock personalities Ron Fantone and John ‘Mr. Sports’ Batcho will host middays from 10am to 1pm. Longtime former 1390 WNIO afternoon host Ron Potesta will host from 3-6pm.
WGFT becomes the third Sports station in the Youngstown market joining iHeartMedia’s “1390 The Gambler” WNIO and Cumulus’ “SportsRadio 96.7” WLLF. Bloom Broadcasting purchased WGFT/W234CH last year from Skip Bednarczyk’s Y-Town Radio Broadcasting for $255,000.
