Hubbard Radio is launching a dedicated podcast division within the company, which it states “stands as the third foundational pillar of Hubbard’s media strategy—alongside its legacy terrestrial radio operations and its digital marketing arm, 2060 Digital.”
Gamut Podcast Network will be “a dedicated podcast division that represents a bold and strategic expansion into the ever-evolving world of on-demand media.” The new division follows the appointment last August of John Goforth as of VP/GM of Podcasts. Goforth will be joined by Jeremy Sinon as VP/Podcast Operations. The network is being built originally around shows established in Hubbard’s local radio markets, but the company says it “is built to evolve with changing consumer behaviors and to help shape the future of Hubbard Radio for the next 100 years.”
Hubbard Radio CEO Ginny Hubbard said, “The launch of Gamut is more than a rebrand; it’s a pivotal evolution for our company. By establishing Gamut as a core component of our business, we are embracing the future of media and ensuring Hubbard’s relevance for the next century.”
Goforth said, “Gamut is designed to reflect both where the industry is and where it’s going. Yes, we’re building a national powerhouse—but we’re just as focused on lifting up unique voices and staying true to the communities we serve. It’s about reach and relevance. That balance is what makes Hubbard special, and it will make Gamut special too.”
Sinon commented, “It’s exciting to see us take the next step in our podcast evolution. Over the years, we’ve had several successful podcast launches come from our markets — from SKOR North and Garage Logic to the American Nightmare Series, UAP: Unidentified Alien Podcast, and beyond. We now get to take that momentum and use it to propel us to a full-fledged national network.”
Hubbard EVP/Chief Financial Officer David Bestler added, “Investing in Gamut is a strategic decision that aligns with our long-term vision. We are committed to allocating the resources needed to ensure Gamut’s success, and with the team we’ve built, we’re confident we’re positioned to become a major force in the space.”
The company has announced a multi-year deal with “Professor of Rock” Adam Reader to bring his content to podcast platforms. Reader, who built his brand on YouTube, launched a weekly syndicated show with Skyview Networks last October based at Hubbard’s “97.1 The Drive” WDRV Chicago.
Audacy has announced the promotion of Leah Reis-Dennis to Head of Podcasts. Reis-Dennis will “lead content, partnerships, and marketing for Audacy’s renowned podcast slate across sports, comedy, lifestyle, true crime, and beyond”.
Reis-Dennis joined Audacy in 2022 and has been serving as VP/Podcast Content, Strategy, and Business Development. She previously worked in podcast business development at SiriusXM’s Stitcher. She commented, “I’m excited to lead the Audacy podcast group into its next chapter. We’ve built a strong foundation and will continue serving our partners and clients by doubling down on creative dealmaking and high-touch partner relationships while expanding our scale, scope and vision for the future.”
Audacy Chief Business Officer Chris Olivero said, “Leah has been instrumental in the growth and success of our podcast portfolio, and we’re honored to elevate her into this expanded leadership role. Her creativity and strategic vision will drive our continued investment in digital audio and podcasting, advancing our content strategy, deepening our partnerships and delivering a premium experience for listeners and innovative solutions for advertisers.”
Reis-Dennis takes the Podcast leadership position at Audacy that had been held by Jenna Weiss-Berman, until her departure from the company in February. Weiss-Berman had joined Audacy through its 2019 acquisition of Pineapple Street Media, which she co-founded in 2016. She has since joined Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions as Head of Audio and Podcasts.
