Michael ‘Mikie’ Hearndon’s Buzzard Roost Broadcasting Company will purchase Country 106.9 WRBE-FM and 1440 WVGG Lucedale MS from James Shirley’s JDL Corporation for $250,000. Hearndon began operating the stations via Time Brokerage Agreement in January and began hosting mornings.
Somerset Educational Broadcasting Foundation, which operates the Christian “King of Kings Radio” network on stations in Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee based at 90.5 WTHL Somerset KY, will purchase Classic Rock “ClassX Radio” 88.9 WMWX Miamitown OH in Cincinnati’s western suburbs from William Spry Jr’s Spryex Communications for $157,500.
After surrendering its license, then rescinding it to take the station silent, Jewell Schaeffer Broadcasting sells 101.3 WAGX Manchester OH to Total Media Group for $10,000. Seller James Wagner was deemed unable to continue work due to Alzheimers. A Time Brokerage Agreement will take effect on May 1.
Robert C. Blakes Enterprises sells Silent 750 KKNO/107.1 K296HM Gretna/New Orleans LA to Jeffrey Thomas, Wendell Pierce and Troy Henry’s Equity Broadcasting for $200,000. The buyers own Black Talk 1230 WBOK New Orleans. KKNO went Silent in August 2024 after a failed transmitter that the seller could not afford to fix or replace.
